  Called John on a Saturday afternoon during the middle of a huge snow storm. Our furnace suddenly wouldn't turn on. The temps were dropping fast outside and I knew we had to have someone out before Monday. Luckily I saw this company on Facebook. I went outside my comfort zone of calling a random company to come into my home. I read the reviews and decided after already calling my old hvac company I've used the past 15 years,  who wanted a minimum of $175 just to put me on their 14 person wait list and couldn't guarantee they'd get to my house by Tuesday, to call John. I immediately liked him. He said he'd be done at the current job he was installing at 4ish. A little before 4pm, he called to apologize, he wasn't done with the current job, but he'd be at my place between 5 & 6pm. No problem at all. ..not like we were in a hurry to leave in the middle of the snow storm! He arrived before 6pm. Immediately figured out the problem. He could've charged us anything at that point to fix our furnace. We have small children in the house and he knew it was only getting colder inside! Instead he was honest, charged us only the $85 rate, got our furnace quickly back up and running. I only wish I found him sooner! He's also an electrician, we'll def be calling John again! ! Can't recommend him enough! 🙂

  Seriously, JNT really is as good as it gets!! No joke.  I came home yesterday, and some time between yesterday afternoon and evening, our air conditioner went out.  It was 88 yesterday and 92 today.  I called JNT this morning around 10am, and was thrilled that he could fit me in today!  Then he surprised me by calling and saying he could get here 3 hours early if that was convenient.  It wasn't, so he changed his scheduled lunch time to fit with my need to be gone from 12-1:00pm.  Who does that????  WOW!  OK, and more good news, it was done quickly ("I think I have that part in my truck" and he did) and it was -such- a reasonable price.  I expect to be fleeced a little in the North Shore area.  Not this time!  What a wonderful experience.  John is both personal and professional, and I highly recommend JNT Mechanical Services!

  Very satisfied with their service.  Technician came out, was thorough and didn't spend the entire visit trying to up-sell me.  He gave me some recommendations along with some things to keep an eye one, but didn't try to push a new unit down my throat.  I had my AC Unit, Furnace, Hot water heater and Sump Pumps serviced and I also had a Smart Thermostat (Ecobee3) installed.

  Second time using JNT Mechanical Services and was very pleased.
First time they replaced our water heater. Called in the morning, got a fair quote over the phone, and the heater was replaced by end of the day.
Second time we had to replace an old electric stove with a new gas stove purchased from ABT. The folks from ABT came 3 times and failed to install it. Called John and again he took care of it. Would definitely recommend ABT for any mechanical issues. Thanks!

  John came out on a Sunday morning to fix our furnace! He even gave it a tune up. I'd highly recommend him and we'll definitely use him again in the future.

  I had my air conditioner go out last night and it was super hot!  I called 11 local hvac businesses at 3 am to see who would be able to come repair it the quickest.  John got back to me the quickest and arrived 6 hours later.  He was respectful, professional and made the repair quickly.  His rates were very reasonable.  Highly recommend.

  Last night we had an emergency water heater situation. After frantically calling a number of places, I got hold of John and am I glad that I did. Real nice guy, very fair pricing, considering its off hours at 10pm in the night!He came and took care of the problem. Very impressed with the whole experience. There are plenty of HVAC and plumbing companies out there, but John and his company deserves a special mention! I will use them for all my HVAC needs in future for sure. Five stars from me!!

  We called a bunch of companies to come fix our heat on one of the coldest nights, and John at JNT was the only one who answered on the first ring. He sent out a technician named Peter who arrived on time. He quickly found the problem and just so happened to have the part on his truck which was a big relief. He even wore shoe covers as to not track snow into the house which my mom was thrilled about! We will definitely use them again for any future problems.

  I would give JNT 10 stars if possible. John first came to my home in the middle of an 18 degree winter night to help us with our furnace that broke down. We weren't ready to purchase a new unit at that time so he helped us get the current system back in working condition and we were able to get through the rest of the winter. Fast forward to summer, our AC unit stopped working this time and we finally needed to pull the trigger on buying an entirely new HVAC unit. John was very transparent, helpful, and most of all, so incredibly kind to us through the entire process and installed the new unit seamlessly. Above all else, his level of customer service is unparalleled and I'd recommend him to anyone in need of HVAC services.

  After having 2 other companies come out and quote me $600-$900 for parts & labor, I decided to get a 3rd opinion. Peter came by and was able to get my furnace running in no time. He diagnosed the issue, fixed it and didn't try to sell me stuff I don't need. I plan to use JNT again for AC tune up.

  I give JNT a 5-star rating because: 1. They provide prompt service. They don't let customers wait long hours. They arrive at 8:20 when they say they will arrive between 8-9 am. 2. They are honest. The service man explains to me how the boiler works and what needs fixing. He also uses instruments to demonstrate the part that no longer works. 3. They are considerate. They cover their shoes before they enter my house. I am ver happy with their service, best ever:)

  Our heat when out on Saturday evening, so I called JNT early Sunday at 8 AM as the temp was down to 58 inside our home. Beforehand, I checked inside the furnace and it seemed that the igniter was not lighting the gas but I wasn't sure. JNT was at my door by 9:15 AM (on a Sunday, mind you) and spent the next 45 minutes diagnosing and replacing the igniter and fixing a stuck gas valve. It's 10 AM and we have heat again. Two hours from call to fix... Love it. Thanks to John from JNT!  

We'll probably need a new furnace before next winter (it's 15 yrs old) and JNT will be the first company we call.

  John was terrific. Responded quickly and replaced my water heater. Very fast service, great products.

  JNT was amazing to work with.  Our heat went out on a Sunday morning and we frantically called JNT.  We were pretty sure we knew what was wrong and told them.  Before having us pay for them to come out they suggested we try a quick troubleshooting method that could fix the issue on its own.  They easily could have skipped this and just come out and charged us for it--I so appreciate their attempt to save us money.  When that did not work they were here within an hour and got everything up and running quickly.  John could not have been kinder or easier to work with!

  This is the second time Johnny has saved the day!

The first was a few years back, doing electrical updating on my condo, and the second was today with my AC unit... up on the roof of a 4 story building. During the week I checked in to see if the expected 97 degrees today would have us rescheduling, but he assured me our appointment was still on. He was able to find a replacement unit for me at a reasonable price and got the job done quickly. So grateful to be writing this review in my (finally) air conditioned home.

Contractors you can trust come few and far between, and I'm glad I know I can count on him for his expertise, reasonable prices, and kindness.

  We called them at 8:00 a.m.. They came for an estimate at 10:00 a.m. and by the afternoon we had a new water tank heater. Amazing services with very competitive prices.

  JNT Mechanical and owner John are by far the best heating/air service company we've used. John is reliable, professional, and responds immediately to all calls. He was also less than half the price of what we've paid for service in the past, with much better service. Look no further!!!

  We can not say enough WONDERFUL things about John and this company. Friday night the gas valve unit on our water heater stopped working..we called a few different places and he called back immediately.  He came out to fix the problem but didn't have the peice required so came out first thing Saturday. He was easily reached through text or call and got the job done. To top it off, he is a genuinly nice guy! Definitely going to put him in our phone book for any future needs!

  John responded quickly to my message, and answered many of my questions even before securing the business. He came out the following day, diagnosed the issue, made the fix, and was in + out in less than an hour. He also had a better prices than any of the other companies I called.

  John came out quickly, same-day as inquiry, on a Saturday to install a smart thermostat. Explained the process, helped with set up and stayed to answer all questions. Great service!

  I'm 9 months over due in writing this review.  I found JNT through Yelp and decided to contact them because of all the positive reviews others had posted.  I'm a naturally skeptical person when ALL the reviews are 5 stars, but after working with John, I can say that all the reviews are well deserved.

I had sent him an e-mail through Yelp on a Sunday about installing 3 ceiling fixtures.  Because it was Sunday, I didn't expect to get a response that day, but I got one within an hour.  After exchanging a few messages, we set up an appt for John to come to my house to do the install.  

On the day of the appt, John was running late and contacted me proactively to let me know about the delay and asked if I wanted to wait or reschedule.  I really wanted to get these lights done, so I said that I would wait.  He and a young man (sorry, but I've now forgotten his name) came around 8PM and installed 3 somewhat complicated fixtures.  It took them about an hour to get all 3 done.  I'm sure they had a very long day by the time they got to my place, yet they were extremely upbeat, courteous, & conscientious.  Their work was impeccable and almost a year later, I'm still enjoying my fixtures.  

I would highly recommend JNT (John) if you have a need.  He's prompt, professional, & I felt what he quoted me as very fair and reasonable.

  We moved into a new home in December and were having problems with the heat.  John came out the next day and got everything running and checked out our air conditioning system as well.  He found some problems with air system and repaired that also.  He explained everything he was doing and charged us much less than we had been charged at our previous location for repairs from another company.  John was friendly and prompt.  I would definitely recommend him for any heat or AC issues!

  Hands down, John at JNT Mechanical was top-notch.  After having our AC go out on a sweltering 90 degree humid Chicago summer day, he was there within 24 hours to look at things.  They were able to diagnose things and get things up and running.  Additionally, they offered me a great deal at a comparable rate.  I would definitely call them again.

  I have used John from general furnace maintenance to AC compressor replacement without a single hitch. He is a true professional- he helped me stay within my budget when my AC compressor at my office failed. Easy to work with, friendly, timely, and reasonable. Nothing but praises for his company.

  I found  JNT from Yelp based on the positive reviews from John's clients.  After two times working with John on my AC unit, I definitely recommends John for your AC maintenance and service!  He is very knowledgeable and honest.  After he added Freon to my AC unit, a capacitor from the AC unit was out.  I called John and he was coming to my house the next morning, fixed it and explained it thoroughly.  I would go to him for any of my AC/Furnace maintenance needs in the future.

  John is fantastic!  After working with someone else who attempted to fix my water heater for a full week without success, I called John.  He came out during the evening to identify the problem, and returned the following morning with the part to fix my water heater.  Two days later, my furnace stopped working.  I called John, he again returned during the evening hours, and after diagnostic tests, determined that I needed a new furnace.  All of his work was done within a day, and he even vacuumed and swept up the dust.  John is knowledgeable, prompt, courteous, and efficient.  I highly recommend him and will most definitely call him again if needed.
